Greetings ! Fellow Rotarians

Greetings ! Fellow Rotarians , it is to note that we were very few last meeting. I counted 17 Rotarians in attendance. It is sad that our busy schedules cannot permit time to Rotary. I just hope that we remember that we pledged ourselves to the tenets of the club and Rotary International . With this comes dedication to service above self. I consider attendance to the meetings part of this obligation because no club can exist without the commitment of the members.

I am reminded of the charging of PAG and PP ChitoSarraga that ” Rotary is a lifetime membership , the more you take time to learn and participate in club activities , the faster you will develop yourself. When you have fully realized the opportunities and benefits of your Rotary membership , then will you know whether you are here to stay or just fade away”.

Kudos goes to our District officers for 2016 – 2017 under DGE .ling D. DelaCalzada. Our appointed officers are as follows:

PDG Manny Along has been appointed as District Trainer for District 3870. PDG Manny will also chair the Paul Harris Society for the district.

We also congratulate PAG Manny Alitiabon who was appointed asmember of the District Training Team for Zone 1.

PAG Lulai Sarraaawas appointed Zone 1 coordinator for Public Relations.

PAG Tony Sorianoas District chair for disaster and Relief.

PAG Carlo Romero was appointed as Chair for Disease Prevention and Treatment.

PP Mar Paano was likewise appointed as Zone 1 RI Convention Promotions chairman.

Once again , congratulations to everyone.

Our upcoming activities for the month of April is the District Assembly . We enjoin all incoming officers to attend. It is a MUST.

We also invite the members to support this DISTASS. This will be on April23,2016 at Grand Caprice Restaurant. If we pay earlier , we get a discount.

One of the major projects for 2016-2017 is the SEAMLESS Seminar on August 5 and 6, 2016. This time, RCCDO will be the host and I am asking your help with this project. We will be calling a committee organizational meeting this May and I hope to see all of you.

Thank you again fellow Rotarians,

I am happy to report that we had 29 members

I am happy to report that we had 29 members in the attendance last Thursday. It was a fun filled meeting with of course PDG Tinnex Jaruala’s update on the current political situation in the local and national levels. We also have our backdrop with the help of PD Mike Mendoza. Thank you very much PD Mike and always taking care that our program for the week is not a dull one. If you have a facebook account, do check out ourFB webpage for what’s happening in our club. PD Mike has also posting our activities, schedules and weekly program for our easy reference.

Kudos also goes to PP Mar Paano who tirelessly pursued the hospital beds shipment to Cdo. We will be expecting these beds soon and we hope you attend the turnover of these bed to the JR Borja Memorial Hospital. We will inform you as the activity becomes near.

I would also like to inform you that December is fast approaching and the smell of Christmas is near. Lets keep our schedules open for the Dec 11 or 12. We will announce the exact date of our Christmas party soon. Fellowship Chairman PAG Manny Aliňabon as to when is the exact date of the party.

This is also a gentle reminder for those who have not paid your dues to see Treas. Julius Dulfo as soon as possible. We need the funds to keep our club moving.

Thank you and more power…

Thank you very much for attending last week’s Club Assembly

Thank you very much for attending last week’s Club Assembly. It is through this process that we are informed of the plans and projects of the club. It is also good to note that the club has very laudable projects outlined for the year.

I would also like to inform the members that in our Monthly Attendance Report (MAR) submitted to the district , we only attained a percentile of 66%. I would like to ask for your support in attending our weekly meetings.

This coming Sunday, August16, 2015 , The Interplast Team from Australia will be flying in from Manila. For those who would like to join us in welcoming them , please coordinate with PP Mar Paano . As soon as they arrive, they will be brought to SEDA Hotel for a quick lunch then they will proceed to JR Borja Hospital for the screening . In this bulletin, we will include the assignments of the members so it will be easy for you to remember . Please do coordinate with your Team Leader .

We will also have a fellowship night for the Interplast Team on August 22, 2015 , 5:30p.m. At Pueblo de Oro Golf and Country Club. Assessment is P 350.00 per person. Please bring your Ann to the party. Attire is casual. We will also be honoring Dr. Mike and his wife Dee who is coming for the last time. Let us all attend and be counted.

Today is Club Assembly Day. I enjoin all Rotarians to be involved in our plans and projects. Our directors will need your help to fill in the gaps. It is easy to make a plan but it is hard to implement them if we do not have your TOTAL support.

Forthcoming is our very laudable project Interplast “ Put a Smile”. I hope you can extend a hand to the project. Our project Chairman, PP Mar Paano  has been busy coordinating with the various agencies so this activity will be a success.

Our Australian doctors and their team are arriving on August 16 ,2015 so those of you who would like to join us when we meet them will also be appreciated.

This will also be the last mission of Dr. Mike and Dee McGlynn. As our way of thanking them , the club together with the Rotary Anns will sponsor a Thanksgiving dinner with a tribute to Mike and Dee. We will keep you posted on the date of this event.

We have also paid our SAR for July – December 2015 in the amount of $1,732.00 or its equivalent P 77,940.00.

Thank you to the members who have paid their dues. We hope to continue our collection drive so for those who haven’t paid, please pay your dues to Treas. Julius Dulfo.

He continued that the cost is about P1,000.00 for each patient and patients as far as Boracay have asked to be included in the list. The project will be this August 16-27,2015 and will be at the JR Borja Memorial Hospital in Carmen this City.

We would like to thank all the members who attended the very lively meeting last May 21, 2015. After all the fanfare of the DisCon 2015, it was inspiring to see that while we all wanted to share our DisCon stories with one another, we were also ready to move on to the next challenge.

Charter Presentation of RC of Opol

We would like to thank the members of RCCDO for their support of our Charter Presentation of the Rotary Club of Opol. The formal event was held last Friday, April 17th at the The Apple Tree Resort in Opol. There were 32 Members and Anns of RCCDO in attendance. The activity with its interesting program and good attendance was a spectacular way to start off our daughter club. The 27 Charter Members of RC Opol were truly appreciative of the presence of not just RCCDO Members but also the PDGs and Club Presidents in our Zone. It is also noteworthy that 3 new members of RC Opol were inducted by DG Manny Along during the program. PAG Chito Sarraga gave his classic Charging speech and his inspiring words were well taken not just by the new inductees but also by the Charter Members.
