What is COVID-19?

  • The novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered corona virus.

  • The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

  • Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.  Older people, and those with underlying medical problems (e.g. cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer) are more likely to develop serious illness.

  • Since March 2020, the number of cases worldwide has accelerated. In some countries, doubling every three days.

  • At the present time, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19.

Gowns/aprons: to protect skin and/or clothing

Masks/Respirators: to protect the mouth/nose/respiratory tract from airborne infectious agents- N95 + Surgical Mask

Goggles and Face Shield: to protect the face, nose, mouth, and eyes

Head and Shoe Cover: to protect against transmission

Gloves - inner + outer: to protect the hands

Food packs: We aim to provide 'Pantawid' Care Packages for families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. As of April 2020 there is an estimated 7 million unemployed Filipinos with 4 million more expected by the end of the year.
